TOLERANCE IN ISLAM Islam is a religion that upholds tolerance. First, it’s clearly explained in the Qoran that there is no force to commit or believe in Islam. In surah Al-Baqarah, there is a verse that explains the people who believe in Islam shouldn’t be by force. People can choose their own religion freely. Second, Islam teaches us to respect each other although in different belief. The prophet Muhammad SAW suggested us to tolerate each other in Islam and other belief. Third, Islam loves peace. Teaching in Islam suggests people to make peace in the world. It’s never taught to make war in islam, except if Islam is fought first because Islam will defend it. In addition, Islam is a religion that is full of tolerance and peace , and it depends on muslim society whether they want to make peace or make a war.
